  • Page 5 OPERATION • Add a liner to the chamber prior to use. • We recommend adding 1/2 cup of bulking agent to the solids chamber after each solid use. This will provide the necessary carbon to balance the nitrogen rich compost, while lightly covering the waste. • For urination, position yourself onto the toilet seat so that urine will fall into the liquid chamber (see image below). Trying to urinate into the liquid chamber whilst standing could cause the urine to splash out of the toilet. • If a very small amount of urine ends up in the solid chamber, the bulking agent will absorb • Close the toilet seat lid after use. CAUTION • Do not throw cigarette butts or other objects into the toilet. • This toilet is intended for regular household or travel use only. • Unplug toilet before cleaning. • Page 6 MAINTENANCE • The toilet does not require a specific room temperature, but composting will occur faster in warmer temperatures. • The liquid chamber has approximately a 7L capacity, and should be checked regularly to avoid overflowing. To empty the liquid chamber, remove the toilet bowl, and grasp the liquid chamber strap. Lift straight up and out of the toilet. • The solid composting chamber has approximately a 23L capacity. For convenience, liners may be used. To empty the solid chamber, remove the toilet bowl and then the liquid chamber, pull the solid chamber forward and lift straight up and out of the toilet; or if a liner is being used, simply remove the liner and its contents. • Additional solid and liquid chambers may be purchased if required. • All waste should be disposed of according to local regulations. • A larger external composting chamber (purchased separately) can be used to further compost the solid waste that is removed from the toilet. CLEANING The external toilet may be cleaned with a mild, nonabrasive cleaner. When cleaning the toilet bowl, be sure to keep antibacterial cleaning products out of the composting chamber as they can kill the microbes that decompose human waste mixed with bulking agent and inhibit the composting process. If a complete clean out is desired, the entire toilet can be removed and washed out. We recommend removing the fan assembly prior to washing to avoid damage to electrical components.
