Let the barbecue heat up for 10 minutes. As soon as the grill has heated up, you can place the meat
and/or fish on the lower grid. Never leave the appliance unattended. Once the meat or fish is ready you
can remove it using a fork or tongs.
This appliance can be used both indoors and outdoors. But make sure that it is plugged only in
an earthed socket. Outdoor use is only permitted during dry weather. If the cord is extended, use
an earthed extension cord (with a minimum diameter of 3 x 1 mm copper wire core).
CLEANING
ALWAYS UNPLUG THE APPLIANCE BEFORE CLEANING.
Clean the appliance after each time that you use it. Allow the appliance to cool completely first. Clean
the outside with a damp cloth. The grid can be placed in the dishwasher.
NOVA TIPS
- Place the appliance on a sturdy, stable surface.
- Do not use aluminium foil to cover the grid as that stops the appliance from releasing its heat.
- If you wrap any packages of food with aluminium, these should be placed in the middle of the grid.
- Never cover more than half of the grid with food wrapped in aluminium.
- Never immerse the appliance in water or any other liquid.
- Make sure that the appliance is set up in such a way that no one can trip over it. Do not leave the
cord dangling in case people or objects become entangled.
- Do not use the equipment if it is damaged, or if the cord is damaged. Send it to our Service
Department. With this type of appliance, a damaged cord should only be replaced by our service
department using special tools.
- Do not place the appliance on or directly adjacent to a warm hotplate or other source of heat.
- Always unplug the appliance before cleaning or if any fault develops.
- The barbecue gets very hot; make sure that children do not come near it, and be careful yourself as well.
- Do not use any abrasive cleaning products.
- Only use the appliance according to the instructions.
- Do not use any accessories that are not recommended by the manufacturer.
- Keep the cord away from the barbecue itself.
- Do not use any non-stick sprays as these can damage some of the parts.
- Children should be supervised to ensure that they do not play with the appliance.
- This appliance is not intended for use by persons (including children) with reduced physical, sensory
or mental capabilities, or lack of experience and knowledge, unless they have been given supervision
or instruction concerning use of the appliance by a person responsible for their safety.
- If the supply cord is damaged, it must be replaced by the manufacturer, its service agent or similarly
qualified persons in order to avoid a hazard.
- The appliance is not intended to be operated by means of an external timer or separate remote-con-
trol system.

U.K. WIRING INSTRUCTIONS

The wires in the mains lead are coloured in accordance with the following code:
BLUE
BROWN
GREEN/YELLOW
As the colours of the wire in the mains lead of this appliance may not correspond with the colour markings
identifying the terminals on your plug, proceed as follows:
The wire which is coloured BLUE must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter N or
coloured black.
The wire which is coloured BROWN must be connected to the terminal which is marked with the letter L
or coloured red.
The wire which is coloured GREEN/YELLOW must be connected to the terminal which is marked with
the letter E or
and is coloured GREEN or GREEN/YELLOW
With this appliance, if a 13 amp plug is used a 13 amp fuse should be fitted. If any other type of plug is
used a 15 amp fuse must be fitted either in the plug or at the distribution
board.
