Paper and CD/DVD Waste Bins

The paper waste bin fits in the cabinet
•
The bin full LED will light when the waste bin is full
o The bin must be emptied and put back in the cabinet
•
The CD/DVD waste bin fits on the left, front rim of the waste bin
o Two small holes in the edge of the CD/DVD bin fit over nodes on the front rim
of the waste bin
•
The CD/DVD bin capacity is 10 CD/DVDs
o The shredder will shut off automatically when the CD/DVD bin is full
o
Empty the CD/DVD bin to resume operations
Mechanical Assemblies
The motor and the cutting block are the major mechanical assemblies.

Cutting Block

The cutting block consists of two separate cutting systems. The paper cutting cylinders and the
CD/DVD cutting cylinders, bearing plates, distance rods, cover plates, and chain. The motor,
gears, and gear box cover are attached to the cutting block.
CAUTION! The cutting block is approximately 35lb. Depending on circumstances two people
may be required to lift it out of the cabinet.
To remove the cutting block from the cabinet:
1. Remove the 3 Philips head screws from each noise isolator bracket that secure the cutting
block to the cabinet.
2. Lift the cutting block with the motor out of the cabinet and place on a flat surface to protect
the cutting cylinders.
3. Make sure the cutting block is stable before performing any maintenance or repair work.

Gears

The gears are protected by the gearbox cover.
To remove/replace the motor gears:
1. Remove the 6 Allen screws that hold the gear cover to the gear box.
2. Remove the 3rd stage combo gear.
3. Remove the 1st/2nd stage gear assembly.
4. Remove the short shaft synchron gears.
cutters will be necessary.(see timing diagram on pg.15)
5. Reassemble the motor gears.

Add quality gear grease as needed.
