Programmes with Dolby Surround (or Dolby Digital) soundtracks will be greatly enhanced allowing
you to enjoy the effects of Virtual Surround from your TV and connected equipment, e.g. DVD player,
games console, etc.
Home theatre surround systems require five or more separate speakers but this is not always
convenient and this TV offers you the Virtual Dolby Surround option.
In order to obtain the full effect of this Virtual Surround, sit in the 'sweet spot'; squarely in front of the
two speakers in the TV. This means that the timing and frequency response information is preserved,
opening your ears to a new world of sound.
Virtual Dolby Surround brings you the benefits of a five-speaker system

If you select the Panorama option you will hear not just
a widening of the sound, but also an amount of surround
sound.
Traditional surround systems would give you left, right,
centre and surround channels. In Panorama mode you
can have a sensation of these systems without the need
for extra speakers.

Dolby Virtual...
Dolby Virtual is the abbreviation of Virtual Dolby
Surround or Virtual Dolby Digital.
Virtual Dolby Surround enables a single listener to
enjoy convincing surround sound over just two
loudspeakers from a television. After multichannel
programme material is decoded by the integrated Dolby
Surround Pro Logic decoder, the surround signal is
processed by a virtualiser and mixed back into the left
and right channels. Playback over stereo speakers results
in a phantom centre and a realistic surround image.
Manufactured under license from Dolby Laboratories.
"Dolby", "Pro Logic" and the double-D symbol are
trademarks of Dolby Laboratories.
