    Connecting a power source You can use either an AC adapter or a rechargeable battery pack as a power source. Using the AC adapter To use the AC adapter, proceed as follows: Plug one end of the power cord (1) into the AC adapter. Plug the other end of the power cord into an AC outlet (2).

    ✍ Use your computer only with the supplied AC adapter. ✍ To disconnect your computer completely from mains voltage, unplug the AC adapter. ✍ Make sure that the socket outlet is easily accessible. ✍ If you do not use the AC adapter for a long period of time, put your computer into Hibernate mode. This power saving mode saves you the time of shutting down in the normal way.

    Charging the battery pack To charge the battery pack, proceed as follows: Connect the AC adapter to the computer. Attach the battery pack. The computer automatically charges the battery (the battery indicator light flashes in a double blink pattern as the battery charges).

    Removing the battery pack To remove the battery pack, proceed as follows: Turn off the computer. Slide the LOCK lever on the top of your computer in the reverse direction of the arrow. Slide and hold the release lever outwards. Raise the battery diagonally to remove from the computer.

    Setting the password Use one of the BIOS functions to set the password. Once you have set the password, you will have to enter the password after the VAIO logo appears. In this way, you can protect your computer from unauthorized access. You cannot start your computer without entering the password.

The harder you push the multi-pointer, the faster the pointer moves.
