To configure the recording device
1 Click Start and then Control Panel.
2 Click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices.
3 Click Sounds and Audio Devices.
The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window appears.
4 Select the Audio tab.
5 Select your default recording device from the drop-down list under Sound recording.
To use an external microphone, select Realtek HD Audio Input.
To use the built-in microphone on your computer, select Realtek Digital Microphone.
6 Click OK.
To adjust the microphone volume
1 Click Start and then Control Panel.
2 Click Sounds, Speech, and Audio Devices.
3 Click Sounds and Audio Devices.
The Sounds and Audio Devices Properties window appears.
4 Select the Volume tab.
5 Move the slider under Device volume horizontally to adjust the microphone volume.
6 Click OK.
