instruction manual completely and thoroughly before using the MFJ-1866.

Installation Instructions:
The MFJ-1866 is designed to be mounted on any 1.37-inch (35mm) pipe.
•
Feed your coax through the pipe.
•
Tightly screw your coax onto the SO-239 connector of the MFJ-1866.
•
Insert the pipe you selected into the base of the MFJ-1687 and tighten the setscrews, so that the
•
base is securely attached to the pipe.
Screw in all 8 of the 11-inch radials horizontally around the top of the base as shown. Use a
•
wrench to tighten the radials.
Screw in all 8 of the 32.5-inch radials in the lower row of holes at an angle as shown. Use a
•
wrench to tighten the radials.
Notes:
If you install the radials before securing the base onto the pipe, you may have trouble tightening the
•
setscrews on the base.
Warning:
Always place the antenna in a location away from people. Serious RF burns may occur if a person
•
NEVER INSTALL AN ANTENNA IN A LOCATION WHERE CONTACT
WITH POWER LINES IS POSSIBLE. DEATH OR SERIOUS INJURY MAY
