1. GENERALITY
This operating manual describes the installation procedures and the main features of the
Donatello ISDN modem family.
Donatello is the ISDN voice modem/fax with multimedia features. It is perfect to send data,
fax and fax on demand at high speed on ISDN lines or to surf the Internet with excellent
performances. Thanks to its voice and multimedia functions it can be used as a digital answering
machine, speakerphone with single and multiple voice mailboxes.
Furthermore Donatello has got a powerful K56Flex™ technology modem which can connect
with 56,000 bps modems as well as with 33,600 bps modems.
This operating manual is for the following
models: Donatello external (PC or
Macintosh) and Donatello internal ISA bus
(PC). See the details of the installation
procedure of your enviromental in the installation
chapter.

Donatello is the perfect solution as it includes in a sole device the modem/fax/voice features
and the powerful performance of digital ISDN lines to surf the Internet at 128/64 Kbps with
PPP and MLPP protocolls.
Donatello works as a multistandard modem/fax (up to 56,000 bps); when used as a fax, it
complies with GR3 and V.17 to send and receive fax at 14400 bps. When used as a terminal
adapter, Donatello works as a modem.
It doesn't require special software and it can be configured using AT commands by any
communication software.
