WIRELESS "SCAN"
The process that teaches your iBike your unique wireless sensor codes is called a "Scan".
Whenever a battery is removed from the separate speed sensor and cadence sensors (model
BKM3), their wireless codes change, so a new Scan must be performed.
NOTE: The iBike model BKM4G combined speed/cadence sensor does not change its wireless
code after a battery change, so a new Scan does not need to be performed.
1) Make sure there is a battery installed both in your iBike and in your wireless mount.
2) Attach your iBike to your wireless mount. Make sure the iBike clicks solidly into place.
3) Activate (wake up) all wireless sensors you use:
A) Activate your model BKM3 speed and cadence sensors by waving a spoke magnet
past each sensor's pickup notch, located at the top right corner of the side with white
lettering. Listen for a clicking sound, indicating that the sensor is activated.
B) Activate your HR strap by attaching it to your chest.
C) OPTIONAL: If you own an ANT+ combined speed/cadence sensor not manufactured
by iBike, activate it by waving a magnet past it.
D) OPTIONAL: If you have an iAero and are using with an ANT+Sport DFPM (SRM,
PT, CinQo), activate the DFPM by spinning the crank a few revolutions.
4) Perform the wireless "Scan":
A) Press-Hold the top and bottom arrows simultaneously for two seconds. The word
"Scan" appears and the Scan process begins. The top window flashes a number.
B) During the Scan the top number flashes. As each sensor is found you'll get a
message when the sensor is found, and you'll also see the top window number
increment by 1. So, you might see "SPD FOUND", "CAD FOUND", HR FOUND"
and the top window flashes "3", meaning that 3 sensors have been found. The
message "SPCD FOUND" appears when a combined speed/cadence sensor is used.
C) Depending on your iBike model and sensor combination, the top window may
continue to flash, indicating that your iBike is still looking for other wireless sensors.
For any sensors your iBike does NOT find, you'll see the message "xxx OFF", where
xxx is the name of the sensor it did not find.
D) When the pairing process is finished the top window will stop flashing. Your iBike
will memorize the wireless IDs for each wireless sensor, and then your iBike will
automatically exit the Scan screen. The Scan process has been completed.
CRITICAL: To make sure your iBike scans wireless sensor signals only from your bike, make
sure you are at least 50 feet away from any wireless sensors that are attached to any other bike.
DO NOT PERFORM A "SCAN" WHILE WHEN NEAR OTHER BIKES, SUCH AS IN A
GYM OR AT A RACE START LINE.
NOTE: IF YOUR IBIKE INDICATES THAT IT DID NOT FIND ALL OF YOUR WIRELESS
SENSORS YOU'RE USING, PERFORM THE "SCAN" AGAIN.
