Permanent run
Permanent run is achieved by pressing the switch button (11) to the
stop and by simultaneous pressing the latching pin (9).
Repeated pressing the switch button (11) and its release the permanent
run is discontinued.
Belt speed pre-selection (EBP 65-E3)
By using the adjustment wheel (10) the speed of the belt can be pre-
selected even during the working process. At high load of the machine
set the controller to the maximum speed.
If you work longer with lower speed let the machine run idle for about
3 minutes at maximum speed, in order to let it cool down.
The ideal belt speed and grain depends on the material, and can be en-
sured by practical tests.

The values mentioned in the above table are indicative only. The re-
quired speed depends on the type of the material and working condi-
tions, and a practical test is recommended to verify it.
Replacement of the abrasive belt (a)
Removal of the abrasive belt
Turn the tensioning lever (3) outwards. Thus the abrasive belt releases
and can be drawn down on side.
Mounting the abrasive belt on
Before you mount a new abrasive belt on (2) clean the skid plate and
tension rollers if necessary.
Apply an abrasive belt of required granularity.
The directions of the arrows on the inner side of the abrasive belt
and the indication (4) on the machine must correspond.
Turn the tensioning lever back to the initial position and let it snap in;
this stretches the abrasive belt.
Adjustment of the abrasive belt (b)
To have the abrasive belt running at the same point of the skid plate and
avoid its „running aside" the run of the belt must be newly adjusted at
each replacement of the abrasive belt.
Switch the machine on and adjust running of the belt using the turning
knob (6).
Turning the knob clockwise (
The abrasive belt moves in the direction
Turning the knob counter-clockwise (
The abrasive belt moves in the direction
To adjust the belt run , turn the turning knob (6) and wait for the reac-
tion of the belt before you continue.
The run of the belt is adjusted correctly if the abrasive belt runs at the
same plane with the skid plate edge.
Store the abrasive belts suspended and do not fold them other-
wise they will become useless!

Work instructions

The grinding performance and the quality of surface are determined by
the belt speed (EBP 65-E3)and by the granularity of the abrasive belt.
The higher the belt speed, the higher the ground-away amount and the
finer the ground surface.
Work with as low grinding pressure as possible; the machine weight
itself is sufficient for a good grinding performance. Thus the abrasive
belt is saved, the surface of the work piece is smoother and the power
consumption is lower.

Switch the machine on before you put it to the work piece. Work with
a sufficient shift, make the individual draughts parallel and overlapped.
Grind in the direction of fibres, transverse traces after grinding give dis-
turbing impression.
Especially when you grind away some pain residues the paint might
dissolve, thus causing the work piece surface contamination, as well as
contamination of he abrasive belt. Therefore the abrasion dust must be
exhausted as described in the „ Dust exhaust" paragraph.
Any worn-out, contaminated or ruptured abrasive belts might damage
the work piece. Therefore replace the abrasive belts on time.
Never work wood and metal using the same abrasive belt!
Replacement of the driving belt (d)
In case of high load of the machine the driving belt might get worn out
quicker than usually.
In this case check the driving belt from time to time and, if necessary,
replace it:
- pull the plug out of the socket.
- release the bolt (16) and remove the cover (8).
- slit the worn-out driving belt and remove it using nipper or a knife.
- before you build a new driving belt in, clear the belt wheel (14) and
the driving wheel (15) totally off all the impurities.
- Put a new driving belt on the driving wheel (15) and, by turning,
press it onto the belt wheel (14).
- Mount the cover on and fix it with a screw.
Do not connect the machine to the mains without the cover on (8)!
Use of the accessories (e)
In combination with the stationary plant (18) and the parallel stop (17)
which are available as the accessories, the belt sander can be used also
a stationary tool.
Thus e.g. profiles, mouldings and other little work pieces can be worked
safely and comfortably.

Maintenance

The cable can only be replaced in an authorised electric workshop
which holds a relevant licence to perform these types of activities.
Keep the machine and your workplace clean and tidy to be able to
work well and safely.
To achieve the maximum exhaust output, clean the exhaust flues
on the machine.
The vent holes of the engine cover must not get plugged.
After about 100 hours of operation the following works need to be
done:
Check of brush length. The brushes shorter than 5 mm have to be
replaced for new ones.
Grease replacement in gearbox and bearings.
To preserve the class of protection, the grinder must be inspected
and checked from the point of safety.
These works must be carried out by a specialized service station
authorized correspondingly.
Storage
Packed appliance may be stored in dry, unheated storage place with
temperature not lower than -5 °C.
Unpacked appliance should be stored only in dry storage place with
temperature not lower than +5 °C with exclusion of all sudden tempera-
ture changes.

Environmental protection

Power tools, accessories and packaging should be sorted for
environmental-friendly recycling.
Only for EU countries:
Do not dispose of power tools into household waste!
According to the European Directive 2002/96/EC on waste electrical and
electronic equipment and its incorporation into national law, power
tools that are no longer suitable for must be separately collected and
sent for recovery in an environmental-friendly manner.
