The Ultrasonic Basic Trainer will help to control your pet's unwanted behavior by
emitting a tone that is inaudible to human hearing, but to which animals are
sensitive*.The distraction helps break pets from behaviors such as jumping on furniture,
barking, chewing, and eating garbage. For maximum results from the Ultrasonic Basic
Trainer, please take a moment to read the instructions before using the unit.
Instructions
• The Ultrasonic Basic Trainer operates on the included 9-volt battery. To install the
battery, open the battery housing by removing the battery housing cover on the
backside of the trainer and take the supplied battery out. Remove the clear battery
wrapper and plug the battery terminals to the wire lead. Carefully replace the cover. The
unit is now ready to use.
• The unit can operate manually or automatically.
Manual Function:
• Leave the black knob on the top of the trainer in the OFF position by turning it to the
extreme right (your right with the trainer's front side facing toward you). Test the unit by
depressing the button. The LED will blink red to let you know the unit is operating and
an audible hum will be emitted. *This audible hum is not the ultrasonic sound that only
your pet can hear.
• Wait for your pet to exhibit the unwanted behavior.
• With the speaker facing away from you and toward your pet, press the button. The
tone emitted will interrupt the behavior.
• Some pet owners find it helpful to use verbal commands such as
"NO!" or "STOP!" prior to using the Basic Trainer.
*Note: The Ultrasonic Basic Trainer emits an audible hum when
activated. This notifies the user the unit is functioning.
Automatic Function:
• When using the auto mode, the only behavior that will be corrected is barking.
• Turn the knob to the ON position by turning it to the left (your left with the trainer's front
side facing you). The LED will light for 5 seconds and shut off. This lets the user know
the unit is working.
• The control knob increases the bark receiver sensitivity. After turn ON, continue
turning the knob clockwise to increase the sensitivity.
Turned up to its most sensitive level, the trainer emits the ultrasonic distraction in
response to very low levels of sound. Turned down to a less sensitive level will mean it
will not emit the distracting ultrasonic sound until your dog is barking very loudly. The
ultrasonic distraction sound audible only to your pet is always emitted at the same high
