Inserting a hard disk drive
1. Slide the installation frame in the inside of the hard drive housing to the side and
out of the housing.
2. Place the SSD hard drive with mSATA connection in the installation frame. Pay
attention to the orientation of the hard disk drive and ensure that the mSATA
connector on the circuit board is inserted correctly into the connections.
3. Slide the installation frame into the housing again. The screw holes of the individual
parts must be flush above each other.
4. Secure the installation frame and housing using the screws included with the
product through the side cover in the housing. Tighten the screws with moderate
force using the screwdriver also included with the product.
We recommend always tightening the hard disk drive to prevent it slipping
out. Be very careful when moving and transporting the hard drive housing if
a hard disk drive is installed but not secured with screws. Without screws,
the installation frame can move or even fall out during sudden movements.
Driver installation
• The necessary drivers are already included in the operating system. A separate
driver is therefore not included with the product.
• Note that a suitable USB 3.0 controller is required for use via USB 3.0. This controller
is built into many modern mainboards, but you can also update your mainboard
using an additional plug-in card.
Operation
• Switch on the computer. Wait until the operating system has fully booted.
• Connect the hard drive housing to an available USB-A port on your computer using
the USB  cable. The blue operational LED lights up when the housing is supplied
with power.
• The operating system automatically recognises the product upon first use and
installs the necessary drivers. The drivers are already included in the operating
system.
• The LED indicator flashes when data is being transferred.
The hard disk drive in the hard drive housing is operated without an external
power supply. It operates in "bus-powered mode". This means that the
current provided by the computer via USB (900 mA according to USB 3.0
standard) is sufficient to operate an external hard disk drive.
• To avoid data loss, never disconnect the USB cable from the product when data is
being transferred.
