devolo's offer for various HomePlug standards and bandwidths
Since 2006 devolo has been supporting the new HomePlug AV standard with
the dLAN 200 AV series and has, thereby, facilitated the applications
described above. In doing so, the "quality of service" function carries out an
automatic prioritisation of language and video data. This allows undisturbed
real-time use when various applications are being used simultaneously on the
same network.
How do the various systems work together?
Devices that meet HomePlug 1.0 and HomePlug AV standards can be operated jointly via
the same electrical wiring. A direct exchange of data, however, is not possible due to the
technical specifications of the HomePlug AV standard. To exchange audio-visual files or data
between two networks that operate under different standards, it is sufficient to place a
HomePlug 1.0 and a HomePlug AV device beside each other in adjacent sockets and to
connect the two using an Ethernet cable. Data from the HomePlug 1.0 network can be
transferred to the HomePlug AV network and vice versa via this "bridge".
devolo for the business user
Since 2007 devolo has been offering solutions for business customers. These devices allow
not only the data transfer via the electrical wiring of a building but also integrate the available
coaxial network. Therefore, the advantages of different networks can be combined. The
solutions are suitable, in particular, for use in the public sector and tertiary sectors such as
schools and nursing homes, hospitals, doctors' surgeries, lawyers' offices or hotels. devolo
products for the business sector are easily recognisable by the black colour of their boxes.
