The dLAN® encryption button
The dLAN® AV products have an encryption button. This is usually located on the bottom next to the
network jack (refer also to the product manual). To assign your network a random password, please
proceed as follows:
To add another adapter to the network, proceed as follows:
Prepare the new adapter by plugging it into a power outlet and holding down the encryption
button for 10 seconds. The power LED goes out for a short moment, all LEDs light up briefly and
then the power LED lights up again and remains lit. Now the adapter is prepared.
Now press the encryption button on one of the adapters which is already in the network.
Now press the encryption button of the new adapter again briefly before 2 minutes pass.
After the power LED on both adapters are continuously light again, the procedure is completed.
To remove an adapter from the network, proceed as follows:
Hold down the encryption button of the adapter you want to remove for 10 seconds. The power LED
goes out for a short moment, all LEDs light up briefly and then the power LED lights up again and
remains lit. Now the adapter is removed from the network.

All dLAN® products are shipped with encryption (128-bit
AES) activated. To enable easy setup, all products have
the password "HomePlugAV". For this reason, all
adapters form a network after being plugged in.
To increase the security even more, you can assign your
network an individual password using the encryption
button.
Plug both adapters into a power outlet.
Press the encryption button on one adapter.
The power LED of the adapter begins to flash.
Now press the encryption button of the second
adapter before 2 minutes pass.
After the power LED on both adapters are
continuously light again, the procedure is
completed.
