Before attempting to use this product, please read this manual thoroughly and follow the instructions carefully. In doing so you will ensure the safety of yourself and that of others around you, and you can look forward to your purchase giving you long and satisfactory service.

    POWER TOOL SAFETY WARNINGS WORK AREA 1. Keep the work area clean and well lit. Cluttered and dark areas invite accidents. 2. Do not operate power tools in explosive atmospheres, such as in the presence of flammable liquids or gases. Power tools create sparks which may ignite the dust or fumes.
  • Page 4 5. Do not overreach. Keep proper footing and balance at all times. This enables better control of the power tool in unexpected situations. 6. Dress properly. Do not wear loose clothing or jewellery. Keep your hair, clothing and gloves away from moving parts. Loose clothes, jewellery or long hair can be caught in moving parts.

    4. Take care when sanding lead based paint or when sanding wood or metal which may produce toxic dust, - do not let children or pregnant women enter the work area. VIBRATION The declared vibration values stated in the specification have been measured in accordance with a standard test method provided by EN 60745 and may be used for comparing one tool with another.

    ELECTRICAL CONNECTIONS WARNING: READ THESE ELECTRICAL SAFETY INSTRUCTIONS THOROUGHLY BEFORE CONNECTING THE PRODUCT TO THE MAINS SUPPLY. Before switching the product on, make sure that the voltage of your electricity supply is the same as that indicated on the rating plate. This product is designed to operate on 230VAC 50Hz.

    OPERATION FITTING THE SANDING SHEET 1. Select the sanding pad to be used. Only prepared sheets for hook and loop attachment can be used. 2. Align the sanding sheet so that the holes are correctly aligned with those in the baseplate (this is necessary for dust extraction). Press the sanding sheet evenly onto the baseplate to attach it.

    Regularly clean the ventilation slots using a soft dry brush or dry cloth. Do not use any abrasive or solvent-based cleaner. A damaged power cable should be replaced by your CLARKE dealer or qualified electrician. Overloading the sander will also cause overheating. Do not use for heavy duty work and do not apply excess pressure.
