Problem
Excessive bottom blade wear
Engine will not start with ignition key
Flat battery
Hydraulic oil system overheating
Incorrect brake operation
Lack of steering
No machine movement forward or reverse
Forward/backward transmission creep in
neutral
Possible Cause
1. Bottom blade in heavy ground contact
2. Cutting edges of the cutting cylinder/
bottom blade are rounded
3. Cylinder is in heavy contact with the
bottom blade
4. Damaged cutting cylinder or bottom
blade
5. Excessively abrasive ground conditions
1. Transmission neutral interlock switch
not energized
2. Parking brake interlock switch not
energized
3. Cutterhead drive interlock switch not
energized
4. Faulty electrical connection
1. Terminal connection loose or corroded
2. Loose or defective alternator belt
3. Defective battery
4. Electrical short circuit
1. Blocked screen
2. Blocked oil cooler fins
3. Blocked engine radiator matrix
4. Low relief valve setting
5. Low oil level
6. Brakes engaged
7. Cutting cylinders tight on bottom
8. Defective fan or fan drive
1. Faulty wheel motor brake assembly
2. Worn brake discs
1. Defective steering valve
2. Defective hydraulic cylinder
3. Damaged steering hose
1. Parking brake engaged
2. Low oil level
3. Incorrect oil used
4. Damaged drive pedal linkage
5. Damaged transmission pump
6. Transmission bypass valve open
7. Broken drive coupling
1. Transmission neutral adjustment

Corrective Action
1. Raise height of cut
2. Back lap or regrind to restore cutting
edges
3. Adjust the cutting cylinder to the bottom
blade
4. Grind or replace as necessary
5. Raise height of cut
1. Remove foot from forward/reverse
pedals or Check setting of transmission
neutral interlock switch
2. Operate parking brake switch to the
ON position
3. Check setting of parking brake interlock
switch
4. Trace and correct fault
1. Clean and tighten terminal connections.
Recharge battery
2. Adjust tension or replace drive belt,
refer to ENGINE HANDBOOK
3. Charge battery or replace battery
4. Trace short circuit and fix
1. Clean screen
2. Clean fins
3. Clean matrix
4. Have relief valve pressure checked.
Consult your authorized dealer
5. Fill reservoir to correct level
6. Disengage brakes
7. Adjust settings
8. Check fan operation and service as
required
1. Consult your authorised dealer
2. Replace brake discs Consult your
authorised dealer
1. Service or replace steering valve
2. Service or replace hydraulic cylinder
3. Replace defective hose
1. Release parking brake
2. Fill reservoir to correct level
3. Drain reservoir and refill with correct oil
