CAUTION
Turn the power switch off and unplug the machine
when deactivating or activating the upper knife.

To Deactivate the Upper Knife

Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to align the
setting marks on the handwheel and machine.
Push the upper knife release lever all the way back
to the setting mark on the back (down position).
The upper knife should sit below the top of the
needle plate.
Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to check if the
upper knife is disengaged.

3 Upper knife release lever
4 Setting mark for down position
5 Upper knife

To Activate the Upper Knife

Turn the handwheel counterclockwise one complete
turn while pulling the upper knife release lever
forward and to the setting mark in the front (up
position).
The lever will move back a little to the standard
position marked with a dot when it is released.
The upper knife will automatically be engaged and
activated.
Turn the handwheel counterclockwise to check if the
knife is activated.
