How do I make my LF 4000w charger/inverter, charge my battery bank when the the batteries are not fully discharged? It will only start charging when the battery is below the automatic charging set point where the battery is depleted to near zero and the inverter is automatically shut down. So, if the charging cycle is interrupted before the batteries are fully charged, after any period of time, I can't start the charger again to complete the charging operation. This has been an issue, brand new out of the box, so must be part of the design.

To charge your battery bank when the batteries are not fully discharged using the AIMS Power LF 4000W charger/inverter, you need to ensure the inverter is set to a regular charging mode (not de-sulphation) and that the generator, if used, meets the recommended size (at least 150% of inverter capacity). Avoid using the de-sulphation setting unless the batteries are sulphated and will not accept a charge. There is no specific setting mentioned for partial discharge charging, but the inverter should automatically begin charging when AC power is available unless battery voltage is too high to trigger charging.

AC/Battery Priority (SW5): The inverter charger is designed with AC priority as default. This means, when AC input is present, the battery will charge first, and the inverter will transfer the input AC to power the load. Only when the AC input is stable for a continuous period of 15 days will the inverter start a battery inverting cycle to protect the battery.

It is better to shut everything off after low voltage trip than to leave your load on, due to the risk of fire. Conformal Coating AIMS Power's entire line of Global LF inverters have been processed with a conformal coating on the PCB, making it water, rust, and dust resistant as well as corrosion resistant.
