REPLACING THE BATTERY (continued)
1. Remove phone number display
window and card. Remove screw
in center of recessed area.
3. Unplug the connector cord and
properly discard old batteries (See
BATTERY DISPOSAL below).
Position and connect new battery.

BATTERY DISPOSAL

The rechargeable nickel cadmium (NiCad) battery in this product must be
recycled or disposed of properly in compliance with all applicable laws.
Certain states or municipalities require recycling and have established collec-
tion programs. Please contact your local waste removal authority for instruc-
tions, or return to Cobra for recycling. Wrap batteries carefully and mail
postage prepaid to:
DO NOT PUT BATTERIES INTO
FIRE OR EXPOSE TO HIGH HEAT.
THEY MAY EXPLODE.

CLEANING THE CHARGING CONTACTS

Clean the two metal charging contacts on the base and handset with a soft,
dry cloth on a regular basis to ensure optimum performance of the battery-
charging system.

2. Use a coin in the slot at the top to
carefully pry open front from back
of handset. Carefully take off back
of handset.
4. Put back and front together so that
hooks at bottom engage. Then
apply pressure to both sections to
reassemble. Replace screw in center
of phone number section. Return
card and window to area. Put hand-
set in charging well and allow bat-
teries to charge 12 hours.
