IMPORTANT: The power supply transformer is rated for internal use only
and cannot get wet. Protect this transformer as you would any electrical plug.
Install Location
The Jacuzzi JPDS Auto Descaler should be installed downstream of the pool pump
on a horizontal pipe and before the filter. It requires less than 5 inches of straight
pipe for the wires to be installed. The pipe should be at low level so that is always
full of water. If there is more than one pump servicing a separate pool of water
feature, then each pumped line should be treated downstream of the pump for best
results. This unit will operate on any type of pipe material, including corrugated
and plastic up to 2.5" diameter.
Securing the Antennas
This is what it should look like after installation. Note that the left hand wire goes
under the plastic tie and over the top of the pipe with a second plastic tie securing
the end. The right hand wire goes under the pipe and under the plastic tie and winds
in the opposite direction.
TIP: It is easier to start by placing a plastic zip tie loosely around the pipe. Feed the
end of the antenna wire through the zip tie and secure so the least amount of
antenna remains between the zip tie and the unit. The shorter the length the more
available to wrap around the pipe and the better the Jacuzzi JPDS will work.
TIP: Vibrations from the pump may loosen the wires. Check occasionally to
retighten.
