Regular and proper maintenance is necessary for trouble free and long-life operation of the
winch.

5.1. TROUBLESHOOTING

PROBLEM :
The winch pulling
power is low
The brake does not
function
Wire rope is hard to pull
out
The winch is pulling
when the clutch is
disengaged

More demanding procedures must be performed by a qualified technical service, only.
The machine is functionally and safety tested. In case of breakdown it is necessary to use
only original spare parts to ensure flawless and safe operation. The customer looses all claims
of warranty if non-original spare parts are used, if the winch is not maintained according to
maintenance plan, if repairs are performed unprofessionally or by unqualified person.
POSSIBLE CAUSES:
Too much wire rope on the drum
Incorrectly adjusted clutch
Greasy clutch plates
(improper chain drive lubrication)
Worn out clutch plates
Fault in the switching mechanism
Damaged driving component of the
winch
Incorrectly adjusted brake
Brake band lining is greasy
Damaged brake mechanism
Worn out brake band
Incorrectly set wire rope release
power
Damaged wire rope
Damaged brake band
Incorrectly adjusted clutch
Damaged drum
Damaged clutch plates
ACTION:
(Chapter: 1.2.)
Set the pulling power according to
the instructions (Chapter: 4.6.)
Clean the surface of the clutch plates or
replace the clutch plates
Check the operation of the switching
mechanism (Chapter: 4.7.)
Replace the damaged parts
Set the brake power (Chapter: 4.5)
Clean the brake band lining and the drum
surface
Replace the damaged parts
Replace the brake band
Set the wire rope release power
according to the instructions (Chapter:
4.5.)
Replace the wire rope (Chapter: 4.4.)
Replace the brake band
Check the pulling power setting,
according to the instructions (Chapter:
4.6. )
Replace the drum
Replace the clutch plate
