Connecting to Your System

For the View Tag to send and receive information, it will first need to be paired with your Gateway Network. Due to varying application options we
offer, navigating the pairing process may be slightly from system to system. For a detailed step-by-step guide to pairing your View Tag to your
Gateway Network, refer to the information manual specific to your application.

User/View Tag Interaction

Screen

The View Tag product line features an electrophoretic ePaper display. This display is designed specifically for displaying information, in a two-tone
format, that is easily readable and reduces strain in various lighting conditions.

LED

Each View Tag has a single, green LED located next to the screen. The actuation of this LED can be programmed and specified by the system to
operate in several different modes, including:
➢ Blink when a button is pressed
➢ Blink when radio is actively transmitting
➢ Blink when passive RFID channel is active
➢ Blink 10 times
➢ Blink until Tag user presses button

Button(s)

The VIEW 3, VIEW 4, and VIEW 7 feature a single, round button for the user to interact with the tag, locally and system via designated
communication channels. The following functions are supported:
➢ Announce - An "active" transmission from a View Tag, including information about the tag, as well as setting tag to enter Receive Mode
(information payload contents & local tag action configured by administrator)
• Press (x1): Sends out "single button press" announce signal
• Press (x2 consecutively): Sends out "double button press" announce signal
• Long Press (>2 seconds): Sends out "extended button press" announce signal
➢ Press (x3 consecutively)
• Tag will display the UID and EPC numbers in an alpha-numeric and barcode formats
• Repeating this procedure will bring the user back to the tag's previously displayed screen
➢ Long Press (>7 seconds)
• Tag will generate a diagnostic page which will display various tag configuration settings
➢ Long Press (>20 seconds)
• Tag's embedded processor will perform a soft reset
Our newest product in the View Tag Line is the VIEW 7. The VIEW 7 offers two additional buttons, increasing the ways in which a user can interact
with the View Tag. The functionality of these buttons can be set using the Logiscend software at your network workstation. (See Figure 13 below)
