Pull the battery tab before operation.
Never crank the radio prior to pulling the battery
tab or you can damage the unit.
If the battery is already depleted, charge the batte-
ry before first use.
If the radio does not operate after pulling the batte-
ry tab or anytime during normal operation:
Reset the radio by removing the battery and inser-
ting an open ended paper clip into the reset hole.
Replace the battery.
Maintenance:
• Leave the radio plugged into a power source
(computer USB or AC) all of the time. You can-
not overcharge the radio. If this is not possi-
ble:
• Periodically charge the radio every few weeks.
This will extend the battery life and provide
a fully charged radio when an emergency oc-
curs. The solar collector will not fully charge
the battery.
• Remove, inspect and clean the radio battery
contacts every few months with a cloth. Ins-
pect the battery for corrosion or leakage.
