    Thank you for purchasing the Ariva HDplayer 200A. This user manual provides step-by-step instructions for installing and using your new HD media player. Ariva HDplayer 200A is a- compact, highdefinition (HD) USB 2.0 media player that attaches to an entertainment unit through a variety of audio/video interfaces and supports playback of major audio, video, and image file formats.

    Glossary HD (High Definition) - Used to describe video content that is in one of the high definition video formats. These are broadly 720i/p and 1080i/p. The 720 or 1080 refers to the number of horizontal lines used to define the picture and the “i” and “p” refer to “interlaced” or “progressive scan”.
  • Page 44 Digital: Sound that has been converted into numerical values. Digital sound is available when you use the DIGITAL AUDIO OUT COAXIAL or OPTICAL jacks. These jacks send audio through multiple channels, instead of just two channels as analog does. PCM (Pulse Code Modulation): A system for converting analog sound signal to digital signal for later processing, with no data compression used in conversion.
