Forming potential groups
Basics
Forming potential groups when using 2x BaseUnits
A potential group formed exclusively of 2x BUs may have an unused module slot that you can use as a reserve slot.
Configure this as an empty slot. If you are configuring an empty slot on a light BaseUnit, set the "Potential group" parameter
to "Enable new potential group (light BaseUnit)", e.g. via configuration control (option handling). Cover the empty slot with a
BU cover (6ES7133-6CV15-1AM0). Empty slots are supported by every ET 200SP head station.
Alternatively, the potential group can also be configured with mixed use of a 1x BaseUnit without empty slot.
