OPERATING THE GENERATOR
6. Turn the key to "PREHEAT" position.
A See "Cold Weather Starting" section as to the
preheating times.
7. Turn the key to the "START" position
and release when the engine starts.
(1) Starter switch (Key)
A Do not run the starter motor continuously for more than
10 seconds at a time, or it may damage the starter. If
the engine fails to start, wait for about 30 seconds and
try again.
8. Check to see that the battery charge
lamp, oil pressure lamp and water
temperature lamp are OFF.
9. Check the warning lamps.
Whenever the engine stops automatically during
operation, correct the problem before restarting the
engine.
A Be sure to warm up the engine, not only in winter, but
also in warmer seasons. An insufficiently warmed-up
engine can shorten its service life.

BWarm-up in Cold Ambient Temperatures
In cold weather, the engine oil may be cold with increased
viscosity. This can delay oil circulation or abnormally low
oil pressure for some time after engine start-up. This can
result trouble in the lubrication circuit or damage to the
engine moving parts.
To prevent the above problems, perform the following
instructions:
Warm up the engine at rated revolution with no load.

10. Turn ON the circuit breaker on the
control panel.
(1) Circuit breaker
A When there is a severe overload or short circuit in the
wiring of the generator, the circuit breaker turns OFF.
If this happens, eliminate the cause and then turn the
circuit breaker ON again.
11. Turn ON the electrical device switches
for the connections.
At least 10 minutes
10 to 20 minutes
More than 20 minutes
