Troubleshooting

Symptom
The PowerXL Air Fryer
does not work
Food is not cooked
Food is not fried evenly
Basket will not slide into appliance properly
White smoke coming from appliance
French fries are not fried evenly
Fries are not crispy
Possible Cause
The appliance is not plugged in.
You have not turned the appliance on
by setting the preparation time
and temperature.
You have probably turned the appliance off. If you turn the
Time Control Knob to 0 while the appliance is cooking, you
will trigger the Auto Shut-Off mode.
The Basket is overloaded.
The temperature is set too low.
Some foods need to be shaken during
the cooking process.

The Fry Tray is not placed in the Basket correctly.
Too much oil is being used.
The Basket has grease residue from the
previous operation.
Potatoes are not prepped properly.
Fries are not cut evenly.

Solution
Plug the Power Cable into a wall socket.
Select the cooking temperature and then a
cooking time. The cooking process will begin
when the cooking time is set.

Use smaller batches for more even frying.
Raise temperature and continue cooking.

Do not fill the Basket above the Maximum line.
Gently push the Fry Tray into the Basket.
Wipe down to remove excess oil.
Clean the Basket after each use.
Consult a recipe for potato type and prep.
Cut fries thinner or reshape fries.
Spread fries out or cook a smaller batch.
Pat dry to remove excess starch.
Dry potato sticks properly before misting oil.
