Using supplied lifting straps and a forklift, lift base column assembly from crate and set on ground near base.

Place lifting straps under the base column
at equal distances away from the center of
gravity (as marked on the column label).
Note: Preattached boom should be
located on inside of lifting straps. The
exact distance apart required for the place-
ment of the lifting straps will depend on
the set width of the forks on the forklift. It
is recommended that the forks be set as
far apart as possible for greatest stability
when lifting (at least 18 inches (457mm)
apart).
Insert forks into the loop sets on each of
the straps.
Lift base column from crate.
Set column near base according to Fig.
6a, leaving ample room surrounding it.
Remove lifting straps.
Note: The mast will be approached by
forklift directly from the top in a future step.
