Using Services

General
A service is a resource that can be accessed by computers that wish to print to the
Brother print server. The Brother print server provides the following predefined
services (do a SHOW SERVICE command in the Brother print server remote console
to see a list of available services):
Service
BINARY_P1
TEXT_P1
POSTSCRIPT_P1
PCL_P1
BRN_xxxxxx_P1_AT
BRN_xxxxxx_P1
where "xxxxxx" is the last six digits of the Ethernet address (for example,
BRN_310107_P1).

commands.pdf on the CD-ROM that was supplied with your Brother product.
Definition
TCP/IP binary and LAT service
TCP/IP text service (adds carriage return after
each line feed).
PostScript service (switches PJL-compatible
printer to PostScript mode)
PCL service (switches PJL-compatible printer
to PCL mode)
AppleTalk and LPD service for Mac OS 8.6 or
later
NetWare service and NetBIOS service
(TCP/IP and LAT are enabled for backwards
compatibility)
