Caution
Never use the torque wrench to undo nuts, bolts or other fasteners as this will damage the ratchet
mechanism and the calibrated settings.

Example settings for model 3001 A,
Example 1
Setting the torque wrench to 96 Nm:
1. Undo the handle locking screw. See fig. 1.
2. Set the handle to 90 Nm. See fig. 2.
3. 1 gradation on the handle = 1 Nm.
6 gradations = 6 Nm.
90 + 6 = 96 Nm. See fig. 3.
4. Lock the handle. See fig. 1.
Example 2
Setting the torque wrench to 70.84 foot-pounds (ft-lb).
1. Undo the handle locking screw. See fig. 1.
2. Set to 66.4. See fig. 4.
3. 1 gradation on the handle = 0.74 ft-lb.
6 gradations = 4.44 ft-lb.
66.4 + 4.44 = 70.84 ft-lb. See fig. 5.
4. Lock the handle. See fig. 1.
Use
Important:
1. Always the use the correct size socket and, if applicable, accessory.
2. Apply a steady pull to the handle. When the set torque has been reached it will be indicated
as follows:
a. An audible click. The click will be quieter at lower torque settings.
b. The tension on the handle will break.
c. The handle will visibly break at the set torque.
Warning:
1. Never continue pulling after the set torque has been reached. This will result in an incorrect
torque being applied and could damage parts.
2. If the torque wrench has not been used for a long time or has been in storage, use it at a low torque
setting pulling the handle several times to allow the internal components to re-lubricate themselves.
3. Set the torque wrench to the lowest setting when it is not to be used for some time.
4. Do not adjust the handle lower than the lowest torque setting.
5. Never use the torque wrench to undo nuts, bolts or other fasteners. This could damage the
ratchet mechanism.
6. The torque wrench is robust and designed for workshop use. However, it is also a precision
measuring instrument and should be treated as such.
7. Clean the wrench by wiping it with a cloth now and then. Do not immerse the wrench in any
kind of cleaning agent. This will affect the internal lubrication.
Always refer to the manufacturer's recommended torque settings and sequences for tightening.
