The Digital Scout has a signal bar indicator located in the top right hand corner of the display.

When pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons to adjust the squelch level from low to
high (no bars to ten bars), the indicator changes from a solid bar
to four lines

When a digital signal is detected the indicator will display four lines.

When an analog signal is detected the indicator will display a solid bar.
It is crucial that the squelch level be set properly, especially when counting digital signals.
Background RF levels may influence where the best position is for the proper squelch set-
ting. Pressing the UP/DOWN arrow buttons will adjust the squelch level.
