Installation
1.
Locate the area where the unit will be mounted and double check that there are NO
obstructions. Make sure that the location allows for the cold air to return to the units
evaporator.
The unit has 4 large 3/8 " holes punched into the stainless steel plate chassis.
We recommend you through bolt this unit to the floor using at least 3/8 grade #5 bolts with
lock nuts and fender washers. This unit is around 70 lbs very heavy so secure it
accordingly !!!
2.
Find a suitable location for the remote condenser. This condenser is not designed to be in
front of a radiator, it will block the air flow and cause over heating. The remote condenser must be installed so
air can enter the front of the condenser and then is pulled thru the fan. It is a good idea to have the fan toward
the back of the vehicle so when traveling down the road air can easily go thru the condenser. The unit can be
mounted standing up with the large port being higher than the small port and the hose exiting out the side not
the top. Remote condenser can be laid almost flat, always maintain a minimum of a 15 degree angle so that
the large port is always higher than the small.

Do not loop lines or have excessive low points. Try to keep hoses close to 7 feet or less. Run the supplied condenser wire from Evaporator Box to Condenser Fan.

The units are also very heavy so lift with 2 people, never alone and make sure before lifting that ALL screws are tight when securing the cover. 2 of the screws in the middle on the sides keep the cover from sliding off and should be put in and very important that they are secured before moving.

Cruise Comfort CNC-DT-02 (3spd blower thermostat option) Thermostat Function The DT-02 is a proprietary digital thermostat that allows the MES / HD air conditioners to have multi fan speed modes that reduce the current consumption of the air conditioners. When either the fan speed goes slower or the air in the vehicle gets colder the blower and or compressor reduce themselves in speed leading to less current consumption.

Large Port 15 Degrees Small Port Looking at the end of the condenser, the small port should always be lower than the large port. All of our condensers use a puller fan so when mounting allow the air as the vehicle goes down the road to enter opposite the fan and let the fan pull the air through the unit and out.

  • Page 8 This install is the most common. The evaporator is down low in a cabinet but air can easily get into the front for recirculation and the cold air exits the vents up high allowing the cold air to fall. This also shows different places the condenser can be mounted.

  • Page 10 Good and bad component placement for the HD- Series in a small trailer / van. This set up is not ideal, the hot air rises and stays at the top and the cold air stays low. This may work if you aim vents up and if the enclosure is not in a extremely hot environment like the desert southwest.
  • Page 11 This installation is typical and has been very successful for our customers and van builders. The unit is typically mounted in a cabinet with the front exposed for maximum air return and the cold returns are put up high so the cold air falls. 4”...
