an air outlet filter, located on the underside of the appliance.
WARNING: Never use the vacuum cleaner if any filter is missing or damaged. Any dust cleaned up
will enter the appliance and damage the motor.
WARNING: Clean the filters regularly or in any case, whenever the suction power seems to be re-
duced.

Emptying the dust container (9)

When the indicator light (4) switches on, this means that the dust container needs emptying.
- Open the compartment (7) by pushing the relevant lever (6) outwards (Fig. 8).
- Pull out the container (9) by the handle (Fig. 9).
- To clean the inside of the container (9), remove the filter assembly (washable) by moving the
special lever (Fig. 10). Empty the dust container (9).
- The filter can be washed in running water: disassemble the filter by turning the cover anticlockwise
and pulling it outwards, then take out the filter below it (Fig. 11).
- Follow these steps in reverse order to refit the filter.
- Refit the dust container (9) onto the body of the appliance (8) so that it clicks into place.
IMPORTANT: When the dust container becomes full, it is advisable to place a plastic bag over the top
and empty it inside the bag itself to prevent dust and dirt from leaking out.
Cleaning the dust bag (8)
When the indicator light turns red, the fabric bag (8) needs to be changed and cleaned.
- Open the dust bag compartment (7) by pushing the relevant lever outwards (Fig. 8).
- Remove the bag (8) (Fig. 12), taking care not to tear it; slide the stiff cardboard section (or plastic
section for fabric bags) along the special guides (Fig. 13). Wash the bag in water and a mild de-
tergent, if necessary.
CAUTION: Always make sure that fabric dust bags are perfectly dry before refitting them.
- Refit the bag by sliding the stiff card section along the guides.
- Close the lid on the dust compartment.
Cleaning/replacing the pre-motor filter
The pre-motor filter needs cleaning on a regular basis and it should be replaced every 6 to 9 months,
depending on use.
- Open the compartment (7) and remove the dust bag (8) or the dust container (9).
- Slide the filter out from the compartment (Fig. 14).
- Remove the filter and shake it vigorously to clean off the dust. For very dirty filters, wash with
warm water, rinse thoroughly and leave to dry naturally. NEVER use artificial means to dry the
filter. To replace the filter, contact an Assistance Centre.
- Replace the filter in its compartment and refit it. When you refit the compartment, make sure that
the rough surface of the filter is visible.
- Lastly, refit the dust bag and make sure that the filter compartment is correctly in place before us-
ing the cleaner.
WARNING: Only wash the filter in clean water, without using soap or detergents.
