Getting a Blood Sample

STEP 1: Wash your hands and the puncture site with
warm, soapy water. Rinse and dry completely. Warm
your fingers to increase blood flow.
STEP 2: Select and Lance a Puncture Site.
• Fingertip
Position the end of the Adjustable
Tip against the side-tip of the fin-
ger or alternate testing site. Press
the Trigger Button, and then lift
the Lancing Device away from the
testing site after the puncture is
complete.
• For AST
Please refer to the "Alternate Site
Testing (AST)" section. Consult with
your healthcare professional be-
fore performing AST.
