Polarizing microscopes DELio

2. Start Up

The package contains all the contents of your microscope. Make sure it includes:
-
A box containing:
o 1 stand,
o 1 head,
o 1 90° swivel analyser
o 1 polarizer mounted on the lighting unit
o 1 cord 2P + T,
o 1 3 mm Allen key,
o 1 2 mm Allen key,
o 1 thin screwdriver,
o 1 key for adjusting the coarse movement firmness,
o 1 spare delay fuse,
o 1 spare bulb (only for versions with halogen lighting)
o 1 green filter,
o 1 immersion oil bottle,
o 1 protective cover.
-
Accessories (delivered separately from the above-mentioned box) depending on the models
ordered:
o Wide-field eyepiece(s) x10 one of which comes with pointer,
o Wide-field eyepiece(s) x15,
o Eyecup(s),
o Lenses x4 – x10 – x40 – x60 or x100 (achromatic, semi-plane or plane).
Carefully remove the stand, the head and its components from the box and its polystyrene casing and
place it on the stable work table. Make sure that the components delivered correspond to the intended
configuration (cf. table of technical specifications, pages 25 to 27).
Be careful not to throw the packaging material. Thus, you could use it for safely storing and
transporting the instrument should the need arise.
Remove the plastic cap of the head base and place it in its housing at the top of the stand. Fasten the
head using the 3mm Allen key (supplied) as far as it will go, without forcing.
Important:
For all models with duo (or « discussion »), trinocular or binocular head with integrated camera,
once the head is clamped as far as it will go, without forcing, turn the 3 mm Allen key (supplied)
anticlockwise to let the head rotate 360°.
For monocular and binocular head models, the system allows free rotation at 360°.
Once the head is mounted, remove the cap(s) from the eyepiece tube(s) and then mount and set the
eyepiece(s) in the eyepiece tube(s).
The observation head steerable over 360° and the tube(s) inclined at 30° ensure excellent ergonomics
and allow prolonged use.
Mount the lenses, being careful to place them in ascending magnification order.
Place the light control knob (present at the base of the stand at the right of the microscope) to the lowest
value, which means completely screwed anticlockwise. This light control knob allows adjusting the light
intensity during your observations.
Plug the power cord to its housing at the rear of the microscope and the 2P + T plug to the other end,
the 220 V mains.
Note:
1) The microscope must be grounded.
2) Make sure that the voltage supply complies with the microscope rated voltage.
