LK Water Safety System WSS PIR
Implementation
The LK Water Safety System WSS is a product
designed to prevent or limit water damage. The LK
WSS PIR system is intended to control the water
supply with motion detection in public environ-
ments such as toilets, showers, changing rooms
etc. A leak detector can also be fitted where there
is a risk of leaks. The system is developed to be
user-friendly and reliable.
System description
The LK Water Safety System WSS PIR consists of a
master unit, a PIR motion detector and two electric
valves. Additional motion and leak detectors can
be added to the system.
When the PIR sensor detects motion, it gives a
signal to the master unit, which opens the electric
valves for the water supply. A timer function also
starts, which shuts off the water supply after a
preset time when no further motion is detected.
The PIR sensor is always connected by wire.
One or more leak detectors can be connected by
wire or wirelessly as accessories. Leak detectors
can be located where there is a risk of leaks. When
they detect a leak, the master unit closes the elec-
tric valves, shutting off the water supply. In this
state, the PIR sensor cannot open the water supply
until the leak detector and master unit have been
reset. The leak detector also has a built-in tempera-
ture monitor to shut off the water at temperatures
under 5° C.
The master unit can also act as a leak detector by
connecting an LK Sensor WSS.
System assembly
Installing electric valves
Installation guide | LK Water Safety System WSS PIR
Install the electric valves on the hot and cold water
supply pipes for the relevant room. Installation of
electric valves must be carried out by a qualified
plumber in accordance with industry regulations
for safe water installation.
NOTE!
Install electric valves after any feed to a
safety system that requires water.
Safety systems such as home sprinklers or emer-
gency cooling for a solid fuel boiler etc. should be
connected before the electric valve, to avoid any
risk to their water supply. An installation with a
water filter that is backwashed should also be con-
nected before the electric valve to avoid interfering
with its function. The system prevents water dam-
age that may occur after the electric valve position.
The LK Water Safety System WSS can alternatively
be mounted in the LK Installation Cabinet on a
wall or ceiling.
