1 About this documentation

1.1 Documentation validity

This documentation applies to the following electrically operated pneumatic 3/2
directional valves.

systems owners.
This documentation contains important information for safe and appropriate
transport, assembly, commissioning, and maintenance of the product.
Read this documentation completely, especially chapter (see "Notes on

TV04-CV series valves are system components.
Note also instructions for other system components and manufacturer's sys-

2 Notes on safety

2.1 About this chapter

The product has been manufactured according to the accepted rules of current
technology. Even so, there is risk of injury and damage to equipment if the fol-
lowing chapter and safety instructions of this documentation are not followed.

2.2 Intended use

The TV04-CV is a system component.
Observe the performance limits listed in the technical data.

The TV04-CV valve is designed and validated for the harsh environment of com-
mercial vehicles only.
The product is intended for professional use only.
Intended use includes reading and understanding this documentation, especially
the chapter (see "Notes on safety").

2.2.1 Use in safety-related controls

The valve is neither a safety component nor a complete safety solution.

2.3 Improper use

Any use other than that described under intended use is improper and is not per-
mitted.
AVENTICS GmbH is not liable for any damages resulting from improper use. The
user alone bears the risks of improper use of the product.
Improper use of the product includes use in ATEX-certified (explosive) areas.

2.4 Personnel qualifications

The work described in this documentation requires basic mechanical, electrical
and pneumatic knowledge, as well as knowledge of the appropriate technical
terms. In order to ensure safe use, these activities may therefore only be carried
out by qualified technical personnel or a trained person under direction and su-
pervision of qualified personnel.
Qualified personnel are those who can recognize possible dangers and institute
the appropriate safety measures, due to their professional training, knowledge,
and experience, as well as their understanding of the relevant regulations per-
taining to the work to be done. Qualified personnel must observe the rules rele-
vant to the subject area.
