Installation

• These instructions cover the installation of a 3-piece system
(#58103) (Ex. 1). Torches can also be installed using a la carte
items. Be sure to follow all applicable codes, regulations, and
requirements of the authority having jurisdiction.
NOTE: Do not use pipe compound or Teflon PTFE tape on
flare gas connections.
• Connect the gas hose and water tubing securely to each torch
(Ex 2). Ensure connections are tight and leak-free. Refer to
"Checking for Leaks" on page 11.
• Feed the gas hose and water tubing through the top core of
each basalt column (Ex 3).
NOTE: Torches are compatible with Aquascape basalt
columns. Ensure columns are stable so
they cannot be tipped over.
NOTE: Position the distance between
basalt columns so torches can be
manually ignited in a short amount of
time. This will prevent excess gas
accumulating prior to igniting the torch.
• Due to slight variances in the stone, each
torch includes (2) pre-installed height
adjustment screws. The screw can be
adjusted to optimize fit and water flow
(Ex 4).
• Connect the gas tubing from each torch to
the 4-way 3/8" splitter (Ex 5).
• Connect the 10' rubber gas hose to the
4-way 3/8" splitter (Ex 5).
• Connect the opposite end of the 10'
rubber gas hose to the Match-Lit Flame
Control System (Ex 5).
• Connect the included propane tank
regulator or natural gas supply to the
Match-Lit Flame Control System (Ex 5).
• All gas connections should be 'leak
tested' and follow all applicable codes,
regulations, and requirements of the
authenticity having jurisdiction. Refer to
"Checking for Leaks" on page 11.
• Connect the water tubing from each torch to a compatible water pump (Ex. 1).
NOTE: Water pump sold separately. Do not provide too high a water flow, as it
may reach the burner and extinguish the flame.
Connecting and Disconnecting a Propane Tank
• Make sure there is no debris in the head of the propane tank or the regulator valve.
Check the burner and burner ports as well. Connect gas line to tank by turning
knob clockwise (hand tighten only) (Ex. 6).
• Make sure the valve on the propane tank is closed. Disconnect by turning the knob
counterclockwise until it is detached from the valve (Ex. 7).
