• The battery pack has not been charged
enough. Fully charge the battery again. If
the problem persists, replace the battery
pack with a new one (p. 9).
• The indicated time may not be correct

This is not a malfunction.

LCD screen

Menu items are grayed out.
• You cannot select grayed items in the
current recording/playback situation.
• There are some functions you cannot
activate simultaneously (p. 72).
The buttons do not appear on the
touch panel.
• Touch the LCD screen lightly.
• Press DISPLAY/BATT INFO (p. 13).
The buttons on the touch panel do
not work correctly or do not work at
all.
• Adjust the touch panel ([CALIBRATION],
p. 81).
• When the HOLD. switch is set to the
right, be sure to slide the HOLD.

"Memory Stick PRO Duo" media
You cannot operate functions using
the "Memory Stick PRO Duo" media.
• If you use "Memory Stick PRO Duo"
media formatted on a computer, format it
again on your camcorder (p. 44).
You cannot delete images stored on
or format the "Memory Stick PRO
Duo" media.
• The maximum number of images that you
can delete at one time is 100.
• You cannot delete the images protected on
another device.
The data file name is not indicated
correctly or flashes.
• The file is damaged.
• The file format is not supported by your
camcorder (p. 77).
Recording
Refer also to "Memory Stick PRO Duo"
media (p. 69).
Pressing START/STOP or PHOTO
does not record images.
• The playback screen is displayed. Press the
(Movie)/ (Still) select button to
turn on the (Movie) lamp or
lamp (p. 19).
• Your camcorder is recording the image you
have just shot on the "Memory Stick PRO
Duo" media. You cannot make new
recording during this period.
• The "Memory Stick PRO Duo" media is
full. Use new "Memory Stick PRO Duo"
media or format the "Memory Stick PRO
Duo" media (p. 44). Or delete the
unnecessary images (p. 33).
• Total number of movie scenes or still
images exceeds the recordable capacity of
your camcorder (p. 15). Delete unnecessary
images (p. 33).
• Moisture condensation has occurred. Turn
off your camcorder and leave it for about 1
hour in a cool place (p. 80).
• When the HOLD. switch is set to the
right, be sure to slide the HOLD.
