manual.
Outdoor

diameter) flexible aluminum pipe must be directly
connected to the oil burner and the coaxial vent
terminal for proper operation of the system.
A Sealed Combustion System is by definition a leak
free system. DO NOT PERFORM ANY OPENINGS
IN THE VENT OR OUTDOOR COMBUSTION AIR
PIPE. Use the test opening port on the breech plate
supplied with this kit for the smoke test and the CO
reading. Refer to figure 7.
The minimum and maximum measured length of the 5
inches diameter stainless steel flexible vent pipe and
the 4 inches diameter aluminum flexible combustion
air pipe should be according to table 1. (Those
dimensions are linear measurements between the
vent terminal and the vent breech plate of the
appliance for the 5 inches vent pipe and the oil burner
air intake for the 4 inches diameter combustion air
pipe).
When all adjustments are completed in accordance
with this manual and the boiler or furnace installation
and operation manual, it is recommended that you
insure that the Flue Gas Temperature at the outlet of
the vent terminal is at least 200
event that you are not able to reach this temperature
within 5 minutes from a cold start, it is recommended

that you increase it by using one or a combination of
the following options :
a. Relocate the furnace or boiler to shorten the flue-
pipe length;
b. Insulate the vent pipe. To do so, use 1 inche of
Microlite™ FSK insulation by John Mansville or an
equivalent. Wrap the insulation around the vent
pipe and use high temperature aluminum tape to
secure it.
After the modifications are done you must wait 30
minutes to let the system cool down and retest the
temperature at the outlet of the vent terminal after 5
minutes of operation. The temperature must then be

The vent terminal is approved for installation through
a combustible wall with ZERO clearance from
combustible materials. The 9 inches clearance around
vent pipe should be respected as indicated on the
