Operating Instructions

INSTRUMENT OPERATION - Install the batteries provided. The unit is switched on/off
by pressing the ON/OFF button. For accurate measurements hold the unit horizontally
to the light source being measured. Please note: the light sensor can be rotated up to
270 °, do not rotate it past this point as this will damage the sensor. Press the Unit button
to switch between foot-candle Ftc and Lux measurements. If the unit displays 'OL' then
the unit is outside of its measurement range.
AUTO-OFF - This unit has a 20 minute auto-power off function. If you need to disable
this function press and hold the Unit button while the light meter is off. Continue holding
the Unit button and press the ON/OFF button, release the Unit button and 'AP on/oFF'
will be shown in the display. Press the Unit button to toggle between on and off. Switch
the unit off to confirm the auto-power off is disabled/enabled.
HOLD - Press the Func button once to display 'HOLD'. Once Hold is selected the last
reading is displayed. Press the Func button three times to return to normal readings.
MAX/MIN - To check the maximum or minimum light reading, press the Func button twice
to display 'Max' or press again until 'Min' is displayed. The unit will continually monitor
the reading which will change if the unit is left in a light source. Switching the unit off will
reset the max/min reading.
LCD BACKLIGHT - Press and hold the Unit button for three seconds and release, the LCD
will illuminate. The backlight will remain on for 60 seconds if not disabled by the user
within this time. To switch the backlight off press and hold the Unit button for three seconds.
BATTERY REPLACEMENT- Replace the batteries when the Battery symbol illuminates, using
three AAA or 1.5 volt equivalent.
EMC/RFI - Instrument performance may be affected if operated within a high frequency
radio field, such as a mobile phone, or if subjected to an electrostatic shock.
