19. Maintenance and cleaning

Maintenance or repair are only to be performed by an expert or a specialist workshop. There are no components
inside the product that require maintenance therefore, never open the product (except for the procedure to insert or
replace the batteries as described in this operating manual).
A dry, soft and clean cloth is sufficient to clean the outside of the weather station.
Do not press on the display too strongly as scatch marks might occur or malfunctions may be the result,
or the display might even break.
Dust can easily be removed by means of a long-haired, soft and clean brush or a vacuum cleaner.
To remove soiling from the outdoor sensor, a cloth that is slightly moistened with lukewarm water may be used.

Do not use any aggressive cleaning agents, cleaning alcohol or other chemical solutions since they will
corrode the housing or even impair the functioning.

20. Disposal

a) General

Electronic devices must not be disposed of in the household waste.
When disposing of the unserviceable product, do so in line with the relevant statutory regulations.

b) Batteries and rechargeable batteries

The end user is legally obliged (Battery Regulation) to return used batteries and rechargeable batteries.
Do not dispose of used batteries in household waste!
Contaminated batteries/rechargeable batteries are labelled with these symbols to indicate that
disposal in the domestic waste is forbidden.
The symbols for the relevant heavy metals are: Cd=cadmium, Hg=mercury, Pb=lead (designation can
be found on battery/rechargeable battery e.g. under the trash icons on the bottom left).
You can return used (rechargeable) batteries free of charge at the official collection points in your
municipality, our stores, or wherever (rechargeable) batteries are sold!
You thereby fulfil your statutory obligations and contribute to the protection of the environment.
