The new belt is fitted in the reverse order.
Belt replacement on FR 13
The 900 mm mulching unit has a toothed drive belt.
The drive belt powers and synchronises the rotation
of the blades. The belt is located under the mowing
deck hood.
1. Dismantle the mowing deck.
2. Loosen the front bolt on the parallel strut and
swing back the strut. Swing the height
adjustment strut forwards.
3. Remove the bolts holding the protective hood
and lift off the hood.
Tip: Mark the position of the blades on
respective belt pullies with a felt tipped pen.
IMPORTANT INFORMATION
The blades on the mulching unit are
positioned at 90° to each other. In all
other cases the blades can collide and
cause serious damage to the cutting unit.
4. Loosen the nut on the eccentric plate and twist
this round.
Remove the four nuts (see picture), holding the
outer blade bearing, so much that the bearing
can be moved.
Slide the blade bearing inwards towards the
centre bearing and pull off the belt.
5. Assembly: Check that the blades are positioned
at 90° to each other as illustrated, otherwise the
belt must be refitted. When the blade bearing is
loose the belt can be guided over to the next
tooth. Tighten the nuts so much that the
bearings rest against the mowing hood, but can
still be moved.
Tension the belt by turning the eccentric
adjuster on the top of the mowing hood. Tighten
the nut.
Tighten all nuts on the blade bearings.
6. When the belt movement (d) = 8 mm inwards
the belt tension (p) = 7 N is correct.
7. Fit the protective hood over the belts and
secure the parallel strut.
