Loading Operation

1.
Know the rated capacity and weight of your Model 27 multi-point lifting beam.
(See The Caldwell Group identification tag on your lifting unit).
2.
Determine the weight of the load and the load's center of gravity.
3.
Confirm the load's weight is less than or equal to the Model 27 rated capacity.
4.
Confirm the combined weight of the load and lifter is less than or equal to the hoist's rated capacity.
5.
Confirm all load attachment components have the correct rated capacity for the load and lifter.
6.
For models with adjustable spreads or bails, make the adjustments before loading, ensuring all adjustments are securely fastened.
7.
Securely attach the load to the lifter, using ONLY symmetrical loading.
8.
Prevent tilting of the lifter and load, by positioning the hoist's and lifter's center in-line with the load's center of gravity.
9.
Use ONLY a vertical lift.
10. Perform a test lift of several inches, verifying: the load is symmetrically attached, the hoist, bail, and load centers are in-line at 90
degrees to horizontal, and the load and lifter are balanced.
11. When the load is level/horizontal, the lifter is in the proper lifting position.
