properly supporting the piece, the
wheel will tend to bind, causing KICK-
bACK and extra load on the motor (Fig.
13).
Support the panel or board close to the
cut, as shown in (Fig. 14). be sure to set
the depth of the cut so that you cut
through the sheet or board only and not
the table or work bench. The two-by-
fours used to raise and support the
work should be positioned so that the
broadest sides support the work and
rest on the table or bench. Do not
support the work with the narrow sides
as this is an unsteady arrangement. If
the sheet or board to be cut is too large
for a table or work bench, use the
supporting two-by-fours on the floor and
secure.

Edge Guide

The straight edge guide is used for cuts
parallel to the edge of the work, and can
be used from either side of the foot
plate for cutting on the left or right side
of the material.
ASSEMBLY (Fig. 15)
A.
Slide bar 23b into desired slot 23d on
either side of the guide 23a.

Align desired hole in bar 23b with
hole in guide 23a.

Thread thumbscrew 23c through
guide 23a into bar 23b and securely
tighten thumbscrew.
ATTACHING EDGE GUIDE TO TOOL
(Fig. 16)

To attach to tool, insert bar 23b
through slots in foot.

Insert square nut 23e into slot in foot
plate.
C.
Thread set screw 23f into the square
nut with a hex wrench 19 to secure
bar in place.
NOTE: When using the straight edge
guide 23 on the left side or right side of
the tool, position guide as shown (Fig.
15).
