4.4.8 Pumps
The hydraulic pumps are the most vital parts of the hydraulic system.
During the system start-up cycle, it is strongly recommended to perform the
following checks:
the hydraulic oil must comply strictly with our recommendations
suction taps are opened
filters are perfectly clean
oil temperature is not below 25° C
the system is in discharging condition, if so required
motor rotation direction is correct
Should any of the above conditions fail to exist, the oil will be prevented
from circulating, especially during the initial start-up, as the lubrication is
taken care of by the hydraulic fluid.
4.4.9 Adjustment of the safety valve
Adjust the safety valve by rotating the handle provided on the valve which
adjusts the spring internal thrust; check immediately the result produced on
the pressure by means of the gauge fitted on the hydraulic power unit.
4.4.10
Inspections to be carried out during the first hours of
operation
Check the oil level with the utmost care and make sure there is no leakage.
Check the pump and motors temperature, and the pump/motor alignments.
It is also desirable to repeat the valves adjustment.
