INSTALLATION MAGIC
MAGIC 105°

PRE-INSTALLATION CHECKS

The leaf must be fixed firmily on the hinges to the pillars, must not be flexible during the
movement and must move without frictions.
Before the installation of MAGIC, verify all dimensions etc.
There's no need for any modification, if the gate is like that shown in Fig. 1.
Gate features must be uniformed with the standards and laws in force. The gate can be
automated only if it is in a good condition and its conditions comply with the EN 12604 norm.
- The gate leaf does not have to have a pedestrian opening. In the opposite case it is
necessary to take the appropriate steps, in accordance with EN 12453 norm point 6.5.1 (for
instance; by preventing the operation of the motor when the pedestrian opening is opened,
by installing a safety microswitch connected with the control panel).
- No mechanical stop shall be on top of the gate, since mechanical stops are not safe enough.
PREPARE THE CEMENTATION OF THE BOX
- Dig the pit fully up to the wall or gate post, keeping to the dimensions indicated in the
drawing and remembering that the hinge centre should fall half way along the Ø 500
dimension (fig. 5).
- Attach a 50 mm PVC tube to the water drain outlet on one side of the box, and a heavy duty
flexible insulating tube of Ø 32 mm max to the power cable outlet (Electrical connections are
made remote from the unit internally of a sealed junction box, which can be either let into
a wall or surface mounted, but must in any event be installed at a minimum height above
ground sufficient to ensure compliance with safety standards).
- Position the foundation box in the pit so that the topmost surface of the cover is flush with
the finished floor or paving.
MAGIC 105° INSTALLATION
- Anchor the box with cement mortar, taking care that none of the mix finds its way into the
enclosure, and checking that the shorter sides are faultlessly parallel with the gate when
in the SHUT position.
- Couple the transmission lever to the output shaft after you have greased it, checking first
that the bronze thrust bearing is fitted to the shaft.
The connection between gate and lever can be made as indicated in figs 7 and 8.
NB - When converting an existing gate with a load bearing support at ground level, the
MAGIC unit can be utilized as a replacement support (see installation fig. 8).
- Insert the bolts for cover fixing in places cut into the foundation box.
