    OPERATING INSTRUCTIONS ON-OFF POWER BUTTON Press this button to turn the unit on or off. The unit will also turn on automatically when a cassette tape is inserted if the ignition switch is "on". VOLUME LEVEL CONTROL (VOL+ / VOL-) To increase the volume level, press the “VOL +”...
  • Page 4 NOTE: Release the button as soon as the display changes from frequency to time (approximately 2 seconds). Holding the button in for too long will put the unit into time setting mode (flashing time display). See section on “Setting the Clock”. BASS CONTROL To adjust the bass level, first select the Bass mode by pressing the Select button...

  • Page 6 STATION PRE-SET MEMORIES To set any of the 6 pre-set memories in each band, use the following procedure: 1. Turn the radio on and select the desired band. 2. Select the first station to be pre-set using the Manual Up/Down or Automatic Seek Tuning Controls 3.
  • Page 7 PROGRAM SELECTOR (PROG) To manually reverse tape direction and play the other side (program) of the cassette, lightly push both the Fast-Forward and Rewind buttons at the same time. The change of direction will be shown by the tape direction arrow on the display panel.

    NOTES ON USE OF FRONT PANEL 1. Make sure the front panel is right-side-up when attaching it to the chassis as it cannot be attached when up-side down. 2. Do not press very hard on the front panel when attaching it to the chassis.

    CD CHANGER CONTROLS Built into this unit are controls to operate an optional CD changer. Please check with your Prestige car stereo specialist for recommendations of the models that will work with this unit. Adjustment of the audio functions (volume, tone, balance, and fader) for the CD changer operate in the same manner as they do for radio and cassette play.

    TRACK/DISC SHUFFLE (SHF) When the Shuffle button is pressed, the tracks on the disc will be played in a random, shuffled order (“SHF” will appear on the display panel). The Track Select button will also select tracks in the shuffled order instead of the normal progression.

    CARE AND MAINTENANCE The radio portion of your new sound system does not require any maintenance. We recommend you keep this manual for future reference of the many features found in this unit. As with any cassette player, the cassette section of this sound system does require a minimum of maintenance to keep it in good working condition.
