• Install the device according to the manufacturer's instructions and any other valid standards and regulations.
• Do not operate the device outside the specified electrical, thermal and mechanical parameters.
• The electrical apparatus must be integrated into the local potential equalisation (PML). The input circuit is
galvanically connected to the housing.
• The relationship between the permitted ambient temperature for the electronics housing, dependent on the
range of application, and the temperature classes is shown in the tables (Tab. 1 and Tab. 3).
• After aligning (rotating) the housing, retighten the fixing screw (see Operating Instructions).
• Do not open the power supply circuits under voltage in an explosive atmosphere.
• Connection compartment cover: "Do not open under voltage in explosive atmospheres". *
• Close unused entry glands with approved sealing plugs.
For selection criteria refer to IEC/EN 60079-14.
• For operating the transmitter housing at an ambient temperature under –20 °C, appropriate cables and cable
entries permitted for this application must be used.
• Continuous duty temperature of the cable ≥ Ta +5 K.
• For connection through a conduit entry approved for this purpose the associated sealing facility shall be
mounted directly to the housing.
• Install the device to exclude any mechanical damage or friction during the application.
Pay particular attention to flow conditions and fittings.
• In case of additional or alternative special varnishing of the enclosure or other metallic parts the danger of
an electrostatic charging must be observed. Do not rub surfaces with dry cloth.
Special conditions (X marking) *
• The probes (rod and rope version) have plastic surfaces, which can become electrostatically charged.
For hazardous locations (classified) of category II 1 G or II 2 G resp. Zone 0 or Zone 1, the electrostatic limits
have to be observed.
