General General The CBM is a module that can control brake coils of all voltages (40-200VDC) and currents (up to 5A) up to a power of 300VA without protection. It is type-tested according to DIN EN81-20. In addition, it can perform brake test and evacuation (for machine roomless systems). In addition, other functions are available, such as the connection of a motor PTC or brake monitoring.

I/O Modus I/O Modus IIn I/O-Mode the configuration is done by 16 dip switches inside CBM. Controlling is done over the inputs on X2. Configuration with dip switches Inside the housing you can find 2 8-pole dip switches S1 and S2. Following you find the meaning of the individual switches.
Depending on the design and the brake used, this can have a positive effect on the noise level of the CBM and the brake itself. However, the benefit of this function must be tested on site. It does not always lead to an improvement.
For a detailed description of the signal sequences see „4.8 Sequence of the control“ page 14. Explanation of Outputs 4.7.1 OK-Signal The OK output signals that the CBM is active and has no error. This output is only active if both processors (control and monitor CPU) release them. 4.7.2 Open-Signal The open output signals an open brake.
Test 1 and Test 2 the evacuation can be activated. This is carried out in the mode set via the dip switches (pulse and period duration). If you deactivate the signals again, the brakes come back in. Manual CBM...
This causes an internal relay at the input of the CBM to drop out and the module is no longer supplied with voltage. The enable signal CBM-OK at X3.3 drops out and the connected controller goes into fault. The brakes can no longer be controlled and therefore it is no longer possible to continue driving.

► During the start up press button T3 n or (if this is not present) set a jumper between X2.1 and X2.3. ► Turn CBM OFF again. ► Releas button T3 or remove the jumper. At the next power up, all errors will be cleared.
